RE:flect
Are you going at it all wrong. Have you ever hear the words “quality not quantity”. Something I have been discovering here with ministry is that often time with less than five individuals, is better (and can accomplish more) than with 50. Or, for those who watch ESPN—Pardon the Interruption gives “5 good minutes” of its 25 minutes to interviewing somebody each day. Would you rather have 5 good minutes, than 25 lesser.
Finally, how about the Master? Look at the stories it took Jesus 3 minutes to tell—and we hear 40 minutes of explanation about their complexity, cultural backgrounds and application to our lives?
RE:act
God can do a lot with our little. And sometimes our little he makes even small. In this world of 40 texts a day, 20 emails, 5 people on AIM, etc… would you take some time today. Before you write, talk or reply, ask yourself – How could I affect this person’s whole week with what I say? How could I use 100 words, to win the battle with that person’s selfish flesh, the messages of this world or Satans lies? How can I “smash my pots” with these words and watch a confused camp of “lies” turn in on themselves and for the captor to be set free? (or even tell yourself tonight that the 15 minutes with your family at the dinner table, will be enough to let you affect them for the evening!)
There is real freedom with God, or rather, freedom with God doing it His way !
RE:ply
Lord, you are wise. You are powerful. You are a deliverer.
Lord, I thank you for your deliverance. For using someone like me. For dying for someone like me.
Lord, I want to have the faith in you, that when I don’t understand, I still know you are with me—and true victory cannot be found away from you.
Lord, help me as I look to take back the captors from their selfish desires, from the clouded messages of Mtv, Network TV, Comedians and music in my life. And lead me not into this temptation, but deliver me from the evil one.
Lord, in your love I find peace and victory. Thank you for your love.
“They had a few small fish as well; he gave thanks for them also and told the disciples to distribute them. The people ate and were satisfied. Afterward the disciples picked up seven basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over. About four thousand men were present.” Mark 8:7-9
