God treated Moses differently. And you know, it is always relatives (like siblings) that find it hard to deal with blessings and to truly root for each other. Can you say that, truly? If your sibling were to always excel and you did average would you always root for him/her? That is kinda what grace means in the Bible – always working for someone else’s interests.
It is interesting that God himself comes to fight for Moses and explains that he reveals himself to Moses in a special way (not because of Moses – remember Moses didn’t spend 40 years looking for a burning bush, he was hiding from a murder sentence). God approached Moses. God said that He doesn’t speak to Moses in riddles (dreams, visions)… but FACE to FACE.
Then we see Jesus (God walking in flesh) pulling 12 aside and having a special relationship. Not speaking to them in riddles. But explaining parables, and even calling them friends. He wanted to have close and real relationship with them—distinct.
And now we have been given the Holy Spirit within us…
RE:act
Sometimes we get “re:action” confused with works. Sometimes there are real things that Scripture asks, commands, warns us not to do. Or commands that we are to follow. However, it is also a reaction to keep “re:flecting”. That is what I encourage you to do, today. Search you heart concerning those whom you love. Do you really wish for their best? Do you hold anything against them? And, are you excited to see that God continually longs to be with all people in the scriptures. It is a funny thing. God begins life on earth with trees, rivers and his presence in a Garden. And we are told it ends with a river, trees and a city with God’s full presence with his people.
We should have helping hands extended. What can you do today for someone else, that will benefit them?
Re:ply
Lord, help me to be “for” everyone and not against anyone. Help me to understand grace this way. Help me to work, celebrate and pray for others.
Lord, in this way I am trust you to work, grow and help me.
Lord, I apologize for holding bad feelings against ______________, _____________, ___________. I feel bad for doing this. I don’t want to be like Aaron and Miriam here. Help me to be humble like Moses.
Lord, thank you for thinking of me.
Lord, thank you for saving me. I am yours.
