02.13.08 - Zeph. 1:1; 3:1-20

RE:flect
"On that day it shall be said to Jerusalem: “Fear not, O Zion; let not your hands grow weak. The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing."

It is very difficult more many to accept these moments in scripture where God personifies himself (that means, he uses words of action and emotions like humans to describe his heart to us). But if you can accept that these words are a revelation of your Creator--then they become so very beautiful. The God who fights even to purify Jerusalem from injustice, unrighteousness and evil... the mighty one will save us and then rejoice over us... shower his love on us... and sing above us! Does this change little of your version of what heaven may be like?

Think for a while, today, on what it would be like in heaven, if God will be rejoicing on his victory over Satan and death finally. Think what it may be like has he rejoices, and sings, over his redeemed people. Think of what it will be like to be in a place of nothing but holy love. So that is my challenge today. Turn off the radio in the car and spend 5-10 minutes dreaming. Ask the Holy Spirit to take you higher in your imagination than you can go by yourself.

RE:ply
Lord, how I long for you to come. How I long this life to be over. How I long for your salvation, your kingdom, your promises.
Lord, inspire your church, claim them today with your Spirit, revive them to be a forceful witness on this earth of your glory, your love, your majesty, your sacrifice and your truth.
Lord, bring your Kingdom to earth.
Lord Jesus, come soon.

"He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus! The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all. Amen."
Revelation 22:20-21
