01.25.08 -- 2Kings 5:1-27

RE:flect
"Naaman was angry and went away, saying, “Behold, I thought that he would surely come out to me and stand and call upon the name of the Lord his God, and wave his hand over the place and cure the leper."

Sometime, when we admit it, we are FRUSTRATED.
quick lesson: frustration = false expectations!

We often, without even knowing it, expect God to work in certain ways, expect things to go a certain way, expect the answer to come from "this path".... but it doesn't. So, should we become angry, or have the ease of Elijah (not even accepting any money). Easier said than done I expect. Still, I find it amazing that a person would travel so long, so far, so many days... to then argue and become angry when the answer to salvation is given.

RE:act
Lets let God decide how he wishes to answer our prayers. Yes, No, Maybe, Silence, etc. That should be enough really. To know that we are assured that our prayers are heard in heaven. God, our loving Father, will react--it a way that is best for us. What more could we legitimately ask?

RE:ply
Lord, you are God. We do not see it all, we can not.
Lord, help us to trust in you. Help us to know that you are in control, and believe it all!
Lord, thank you for your encouraging words, they are useful, helpful and true.

"But as for me, my prayer is to you, O Lord. At an acceptable time, O God, in the abundance of your steadfast love answer me in your saving faithfulness."
Psalm 69:13
