01.05.08 Psalm 139:1-24

RE:flect
Another exercise with a Psalm. Break it down and then re-write it to help you pray.

RE:act
Vs. 1-4 Lord you know everything there is about me. Even before I do it, or say it, you know.
Vs. 5-6 you are with me, and this is a wonderful thought. Almost to wonderful to understand.
Vs. 7-10 Where could I go where you aren’t? the seas, land, air… you are everywhere
Vs. 11-12 Even if I try to hide in the dark, the dark will flee from you
Vs. 13-16 You saw me when I was being made in my mother. I am a wonderful creation. You know when I was born and when I will die.
Vs. 17-18 your words, thoughts, (book) is precious, I could think about them and fall asleep, yet you are still there when I awake
Vs. 19-22 If you would just remove those who hate you from me. Don’t I strive for your cause, hate wicked people? They are enemies?
Vs. 23-24 Look deeply into my heart. Show me if I am in danger of being your enemy, lead me to the road to everlasting life.

RE:ply
Lord, you are behind, with and before this time, and me. There is nothing new or surprising to you. You are with me all the time and that is a wonderful thought for me. Sometimes enough to forget cause it is just to amazing to comprehend. Help me comprehend.
Lord, where could I go that you are not already there waiting for me? Even before I had the mind to comprehend you, you took note of me, you saw me being created in my mother. You know when I will leave this earth, you are awesome.
Lord, your words are awesome, help me to meditate on them, to think about the, to dwell in them. To fall asleep with them.. and even when I wake, remind me that you are there watching and waiting for my eyes to open for the day!
Lord, it is frustrating that I am finding people all the time that are spitting in your face with their lives, especially those who know better. Those who do not know you I pity. But those who are luke-warm I wish would be judged… and those who are really against you, I wish they would be removed. Oh, God… if my heart is more earthly than holy towards these people—show me. If I am in danger of becoming like them, teach me so I can life forever with you.

And this is eternal life, that they know you the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.” John 17:3
