01.03.08 II Samuel 12:1-25

RE:flect
“Atah Aiesh” = You are the man! There is some Hebrew for you today. But this isn’t said in a good way. David has been calloused in his heart from his sin. That is the nature of it. Eventually you say “sin” but you don’t hate it anymore. You can “deal” with it “put up” with it. We are called to be lie Nathan to many of our friends, and we should be ready to be like David and receive these times of help and accountability. Think about it.. you come to church and say “I want to be more like Jesus” and then you are surprised when a friend asks you, “ Is that what Jesus would do?”

RE:act
Take some time today to think about someone who you need to talk to about their sins… that they may have become calloused and hardened their heart to them. Are you in a good position to confront them? Pray for them and then go and see them (don’t email, text, or myspace them!)

RE:ply
Lord, when I sin, help give strength to my family and friends to confront me.
Lord, prepare me to accept their rebuke. Tell me again that they love me, or else they wouldn’t care.
Lord, help me to resist sin.

But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do.” Galatians 5:16-17
