11.22.07 RE:ading -- Numbers 14:1-44

RE:flect

Interesting. Unbelievable. How is it that you can live to see God doing all of these works in your life—not a legend, or a story from old. But you have seen it—and you still REBEL! Fear seizes you. This is a low and dark day. The promise, the gift rejected. And so, God rejects a whole generation that SAW his works and STILL rebelled from his commands.

Only Caleb and Joshua remain. And Caleb is commended as “wholeheartedly” following God. Moses again pleads for God to forgive. But sometimes living without the gift, could be worse than just dying in a plague (when you think about it).

RE:act

DON’T DO IT! Maybe everything in you is grumbling. Maybe you didn’t get the life you thought you should. Maybe you are sick and tired of “being a Christian” and not getting ahead in life. Maybe you are looking backward at your past life, and forget to see your future, and you long for what you use to had? DON’T DO IT! Don’t grumble, rebel, complain and turn from God.

You have seen him work. You have seen his community. You have heard from the Bible. Don’t turn and forget what you know—don’t give into your emotions and desires.

Re:ply

Lord, you have my heart. Be the center of my being. Be the center of my life.
Lord, remind me, bring to my mind the truths that I know, the works of your hand, the Mighty One-The Lord who came to earth to die for me.
Lord, shake everything within me. Shake me up. And allow me to see the foundations that do not shake. Help me to hide in you like a cliff and to not run.
Lord, help me not to doubt. But to believe. I know you can do this.
Lord, I lay this request before you.

I will remember the deeds of the LORD; yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago. I will meditate on all your works and consider all your mighty deeds. Your ways, O God, are holy. What god is so great as our God?” Psalm 77:11-13
