I wonder, as I read this today, why God allows bad things to happen to those who mistreat his people? Could it have something to do with defending Himself also? I wonder, as I read to day, if only two people knew why Sampson was tied up: Sampson and the Lord. Here there are thousands worshiping a false god thinking that this god (this lie) had defeated Sampson (and therefore, Sampson's God, the God of Israel). I wonder if God is allowing Sampson to have strength for more than just avenging his missing eyes? Maybe avenging the God of heaven and earth, the God of Israel, YahWeh!?

Would you ever die to defend the honor of God's name? I wonder, if we are willing to die for country, for family, for love... Why not for the name of the Lord? Would you give up your life, if you were Sampson, to punish those who give credit to false gods? Are you also jealous for the Name of the Lord?
