12.19.07 -- I Samuel 16:1-23

RE:flect
Has God ever told you to "move on". To stop looking behind, and think of what is ahead? Scripture is full of this... "Abram... get up and go..." "Moses... you will go " "Joshua... you will lead...".
(Jesus said, "Come, follow me..."). The past isn't always bad. Sometimes it is just "the past". Samuel was heartbroken, he loved Saul--yet when the time came that the LORD said "Samuel, stop morning, fill your horn with oil and GO!" ... he obeyed.

RE:act
Are you dealing with your past still. Has God forgiving you, but you haven't forgiven yourself? The pain was real I am sure. The loss significant. The anger, full. Even fun is worth remembering. But we are not called to live in the past. We are called to "GO".
May we be found to be in the ranks of Samuel... may it be said of us "_______ (your name) did just as the LORD commanded him/her."

RE:ply
Lord, give us the strength to rise and look forward.
Lord, remind us of your Holy Spirit, your anointing and your favor for us. You are good.
Lord, fill me again with your Holy Spirit. Give me eyes to see beyond today. Help me trust and obey.
Thank you Lord. Thank you so much, for giving me the road ahead. And Forgetting the road behind me.

"Put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness."
Galatians 4:22-24
